COVID-19 Travel Protocols

REQUIREMENTS FOR HOTEL GUESTS CHECKING IN

All guests MUST present a negative COVID test result taken within three days of check in.

Effective at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, 19 June 2022, travelers will no longer need to apply for a Bahamas Travel Health Visa in order to enter the country. All unvaccinated travelers will, however, still be required to present a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than three days (72 hours) prior to travel to The Bahamas.


Fully-vaccinated travelers

  • Traveling inter-island (domestic) within the Bahamas, will no longer be required to obtain a COVID-19 test prior to the date of travel.
  • Traveling internationally are required to upload negative COVID-19 test results (either a Rapid Antigen Test or RT-PCR Test) in addition to valid proof of vaccination confirming they have passed the two-week immunity period (such as CDC or government issued vaccine record card).
  • At this time, the Bahamas Government will only be accepting vaccinations by AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria/Covishield), Janseen (Johnson & Johnson), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Moderna (Spikevax), Sinopharm, Covaxin or Sinovac.
  • Apply for and obtain a travel health visa at https://travel.gov.bs/


Unvaccinated travelers

  • All unvaccinated visitors, ages 12 and older, are required to upload their negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test results. Tests must be taken up to three days (72 hours) prior to the date of arrival.

Children between 2 – 11 years old

  • Obtain a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test or RT-PCR test administered no more than 3 days prior to the travel date.
  • Apply for and obtain a travel health visa at https://travel.gov.bs/


Children younger than 2 years old

  • Exempt from testing requirements, however, parents or guardians must obtain a travel health visa for the child at https://travel.gov.bs/

All Travelers

Travelers are no longer required to opt in to the COVID-19 health insurance that covers them for the duration of their stay in The Bahamas, up to one (1) month.

All Bahamian Residents & Citizens

planning to travel abroad for two (2) days or more must secure a test in the destination they visited before traveling back to The Bahamas. Any COVID-19 RT-PCR or COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test taken in The Bahamas prior to travel will not be valid for re-entry unless a person travels from The Bahamas and returns within a period of 24-hours.


SECONDARY TESTING

All travelers to the Bahamas staying at least 5 days must take a rapid antigen test on the 5th day after their arrival. The Peace & Plenty has a testing facility onsite at the hotel.

REQUIREMENTS FOR RE-ENTERING THE U.S.

All travelers regardless of age must obtain a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test or RT-PCR test within 3 days of arriving by airplane. The Peace & Plenty has a testing facility onsite at the hotel.
