Great Exuma’s
Find Copia at the legendary Peace & Plenty Hotel in the heart of Georgetown, the capital of Great Exuma.
From Conch Fritters to Caribbean Pepper Pot, our menus shine the spotlight on elevated Bahamian cuisine.

We’ve welcomed Jimmy Buffett, Prince Philip, Jackie O, Johnny Depp, and many other island lovers over our 60+ years, but the site’s history extends much farther back than that. Lord Denys Rolle sailed to Exuma in 1783 aboard the English trading ship Peace and Plenty. He established a cotton plantation, naming it after his ship. Nearly 200 years later, on January 14, 1958, Lawrence Lewis, the grandson of railroad tycoon Henry Flagler, opened the Peace & Plenty Hotel on the site. The old plantation cookhouse became the club’s bar, while the main lobby began as a sponge warehouse.
A group of experienced investors in partnership with a sophisticated hotel operator acquired the property in 2017, melding the tradition, culture, and feel of the original Peace Plenty with a luxurious experience.
