What is Thunderball Grotto

The Thunderball Grotto is an extensive cave system that has been carved away by the ocean waters over the years to form a hidden oasis. Natural skylights allow the sun’s rays to illuminate the waters below, where an array of sea life enjoy their secluded home. With much of Staniel Cay being hollowed out, various cave systems full of water open up as you wander deeper into them. Fishers and Hollywood have both been drawn to Thunderball Grotto over the years, and it even received its name in the 1960s when the James Bond movie, Thunderball, was filmed there.
