Dear Mr. Benjamir:
We would like you to know how enjoyable our vacation was in late
January at the Club Peace and Plenty in George Town, Great Exuma
Island. We also stayed at Club Peace and Plenty about three years
ago, in fact it was during the first week in February 2002. We had
such a splendid time there that we decided to return because we
enjoyed the friendly residents, the water, and the perfect climate
at that time of the year.
We love the island and Club Peace and Plenty because of its casualness
and because it is an ideal place to get away from the hustle and
bustle of our busy lives: a place where we can truly relax. We could
stay at resorts in Florida but George Town and Club Peace and Plenty
are better. The complex has a history, atmosphere, and a richness
that only Club Peace and Plenty can have. Thank you for restoring
it to its old beauty without changing .it too drastically so as
to loose its unique character. It is the unspoiled beauty that causes
us to be so comfortable along with everyone we meet being so cordial
and friendly and always willing to share information take the time
to talk make us feel we are truly welcome.
We would like to thank the staff at Club Peace and Plenty for being
so helpful and caring. We enjoyed the informal chats at the front
desk, the care given by waitresses and your chef who visited us
at our table during the evening meals. The cuisine is excellent
and we overheard visitors from another hotel remarking that the
food was the best on the island. Our compliments to your chef; he
really connects with the guests and sincerely wants to please. He
is an asset to Club Peace and Plenty. Lermon our favorite bartender
in the entire world has the uncanny ability to recognize us after
wee years and makes the best Pina Colada's we've ever had! You provide
a happy family type of atmosphere that makes us want to return.
We send you all the best regards from us and we look forward to
seeing you in 2006.

We enjoyed our recent visit to Exuma, staying as always, at Peace
and Plenty where, despite the renovations we benefited from the
usual hospitable welcome. Indeed, we and our friends from New York
visit regularly as you know and we are all impressed that the expansion
of your Hotel has not changed the ethos of Bahamian culture within
dearly pervades the ambience of Peace and Plenty.
This brings me to our appreciation as to the future of an Island
for which we have a great affection. In considering Exuma’s
resources, both current and potential, it should be remembered that
the Island’s greatest resource is its people. Visitors first
go to Exuma largely for dynamic seasons; they return, time and again,
because of the people. Any failure to recognize this, may lead to
inadequate consideration of the 'ripple' effect upon the people
and their culture, when consideration is given to possible further
development.
We are concerned at the production of intensive, and large scale
development at Emerald Bay and, in particular the impact which this
may have upon the Island's culture, its People and its economy.
We must hope that this and all further development is subjected
to the closest scrutiny based upon the criteria described.
What Exuma needs is carefully considered planning, designed to
optimize the potential of the Island, consistent with minimum impact
on its culture and traditions. Failure to couple this with sensitivity
to the People's right to share in the ensuing benefits, will be
unjust and likely to prejudice what I have discribed as Exuma's
greatest resource. I consider this to be nothing less than fundamental.
If this view is also held by those responsible for management of
overall planning, I feel sure that the 'implant' impression given
by the Four Seasons development, can be avoided in future, in favor
of development whim Exumans and visitors alike, may look upon as
evolutionary .
I would only add that if anecdotal evidence is a guide, these views
are widespread among Exumans and visitors.

Neville,
It has been 10 days since Janet and I left P&P. I can tell
you that there hasn’t been a morning since, that I don’t
miss opening my eyes in the morning and seeing Elizabeth Harbor!
We have been to P&P many times, but without a doubt this was
our best visit yet. The room and the property look terrific. While
we ere there during the renovation, Janet and I both noticed how
friendly the construction workers were. Your staff as usual was
terrific and the food is the best it’s been for sometime.
We particularly enjoyed the “chef’s Buffet” during
the Super Bowl. A regular Sunday buffet would be a good thing.
Most of all we really appreciated all that you did to make us feel
comfortable… the room was terrific, thank you!
We will be back next year and will probably bring some friends
so they can appreciate all that Exuma and P&P have to offer.
Keep us updated on all the island “news.”
Kindest Regards
Mike and Janet Warner
